A central database of translations enables you to quickly translate an application into multiple languages.A powerful editor lets you edit in the application or export to an XML spreadsheet for editing by a translator, then re-imported later. Translations can be re-used and included in different applications for export as .NET resx files, Java .properties, GNU gettext/po files, XUL/JavaScript bundles used by Firefox extensions or PHP files as arrays or definitions. For more specific formats, create your own resource template and ResourceBlender will generate files in virtually any format. Automatic machine translation is available with one click from the editor, making use of Google Translate to save looking up a word or phrase.
Existing resource files can be imported quickly using a wizard, allowing you to migrate from other solutions and each translator can leave a comment for every translation to provide context information for future translators.
The attractive interface makes use of WPF, the latest part of the .NET Framework which enables rich user interfaces. There's also an ASP.NET version which allows translators to work online, and the two versions can interoperate seamlessly.
There are maintenance tools to find duplicate resources and resources which are no longer used, and a summary graph showing the completion of each translation used by an application.
ResourceBlender Express is also capable of editing .NET managed resource files (resx). It provides features while editing not available in Visual Studio or other resx file editors.
Translations can be re-used, so when your next application needs to be localized - whether you pay a translator per-word or rely on the community to help, you end up with less work.
