Map Scholar is a fun and addictive game that makes learning geography easy and fun!
Map Scholar shows a colorful, highly detailed, animated world political map with striking physical features that you can zoom in on.
You can play four different games: Countries, Flags, Cities or Capitals.
You select the game you want, then select one of 8 different continents that you wish to learn. You can also choose the entire globe if you want to test your knowledge of the world!
Selecting the U.S. or Canada will allow you to test yourself on the States of the U.S. or the Provinces of Canada.
Selecting Oceania opens a special Pacific-centered map showing all of the Pacific Islands.
In Countries mode, you are shown a country name and asked to click on the map where the country is. If you get it wrong, Map Scholar shows you what country you clicked on and then shows you the country you should have clicked.
In Flag mode, you're shown a flag rather than a country name and then have to click on the correct country.
In Capitals mode, you're shown a Capital city name and then have to click on it's country. The closer to the city location that you click, the more points you get.
In Cities mode, you're shown a city name and then have to click on the map where you think the city is. The closer you click, the more points you get. You get bonus points for clicking within 4 miles of the city.
For learning purposes, the game can be played with country labels visible. When you are ready, you can play the game no labels and earn double points.
Map Scholar can help you to learn 739 cities, 304 Capital Cities, 338 Countries and 319 Flags.
It's a dynamic and colorful game that challenges you to beat the high score by getting the best time with the greatest accuracy.
